Tahlia plays a vital role in assisting Gavin, Tania, Mel and Cheryl in providing guidance and support to our clients who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, stress or related mental health issues. Tahlia also works in-house, as our Mental Health First Aid Responder.
Tahlia is equipped to help business owners who may be experiencing heightened financial or personal distress. She is also able to administer first aid to someone who may be experiencing a mental health crisis.
Tahlia’s training aligns with Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) ‘Count on U’ program, a university-led mental health first aid and relationship-building program which enables Tahlia to provide intermediary business and mental health support to both clients and colleagues.
Tahlia’s Advice for Managing Your Mental Health This Festive Season
This time of year can be difficult for many people, for many different reasons. Being self-aware, (paying attention to how you are thinking, feeling and acting), is important at all times, but even more-so during the festive season which may be charged with heightened emotions and expectations.
The stress of the holiday season triggers feelings of stress or sadness for many of us. It’s normal. It can be especially tough as a business owner if you’re not able to spend much time with family, or if financial pressures are high.
If you’re struggling, there is help out there. If you’re not sure where to turn, we can provide you with guidance and resources for accessing help. Reach out to Tahlia at tahlia@smithshearer.com.au.
