Rachel Tyrrell
Receptionist at Smith Shearer
When you phone the Smith Shearer office and can hear her smile down the phone line, you’ll know it’s our warm and welcoming receptionist Rachel. Having started her role at Smith Shearer in November 2022, Rachel is a weaver and connector, both in and out of work.
In the office, Rachel seamlessly connects our clients with the team member who is best positioned to answer their question. With a finger on the pulse at all times, she is the first point of contact and loves meeting and greeting and making people feel welcome.
When she’s not at work, you’ll find Rachel down at the beach, collecting discarded rope or driftwood which she then transforms into woven items and fencing, (you see, we told you she is a weaver and connector!). Rachel is incredibly passionate about upcycling, and she also crafts ‘rag rugs’ from old clothing and linen. You may also find her snuggling her adorable kitten, ‘Snagger’s.
Born and raised in Esperance, Rachel moved to the South West of WA when she was twenty years old. Spending 25 years on the west-side, Rachel experienced an epiphany in 2019 which brought her home to Esperance. If she could travel anywhere in the world, Rachel would go to Japan, Bhutan, Nepal or Morocco, (Rachel is headed off on her dream trip to Japan in 2024!). It’s no surprise then, that spicy food is Rachel’s favourite, (and she has a particular penchant for Thai food).
